November Rain
No glory in November days,
Dismal and damp, a shroud of greys
That paint the skies in gloomy wash,
Its palette dull, of mackintosh
So rare to see the sun peep through,
To lighten black mood, feelings blue
Instead the slate outside the door
Gets ready for the next downpour
Intense it drops, relentless, bleak
Through window blinds, I take a peak
As heavy tears, sad mournful rain
Hears tuneless beat on misty pane
Small droplets splatter, spit and fall
They slap plate glass, commence their crawl
A trickle forms which slips and slides
and spurts to rapids running wide
Come winter soon, with icy freeze
Jack Frost his finger out to tease
Replacing wet and wretched sight
With crystals that appear by night
Nice, but a hint of a stumble at 'Dismal'. How about 'So damp and dismal, shrouded greys' ?
